Hazmat added that he backed Makinde’s candidature for governor.
Speaking at an Accord Party conference in Ibadan, Hamzat claimed that Makinde’s successes in the state should be attributed to him.
“Seyi Makinde has reformed Oyo,” he declared. Seyi Makinde was brought by whom? It was me. I was among those who backed him during his tenure as governor and helped bring him in.
“Why don’t you acknowledge me for all those positive accomplishments? Why are people attacking me because of the unpleasant part?
“Those opposition parties will claim that he accomplished amazing things when they want to talk, so why shouldn’t I be given credit for those as well?
“I’ve been referred to as an ungrateful person. How? The election outcome demonstrated your believe in me; is this not the same Oriyomi who came to you to endorse Makinde?
“Contracts are the reason I don’t follow the government. In exchange for my support, the government promised to look after the general public.
“There is absolutely no transactional relationship. I simply want people to support the individual I introduced them to because they are performing well.
