Kenneth Okonkwo, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), said on Friday that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), is a habitual liar who is out to ruin all South-East rising stars.
Okonkwo was responding to Obi’s lawsuit alleging slander.
In an appearance on Sunrise Daily, he emphasised that Obi’s legal counsel should better educate him on the subject of defamation, claiming that Obi has demonstrated a lack of depth and legal knowledge.
Okonkwo maintained that he never disparaged Obi, emphasising that his comments are publicly available for anybody to confirm.
“Look at the lie he just told. Peter Obi is a classless, non-charismatic politician with little knowledge and zero depth,” he declared. First of all, what he said is irrational from a legal standpoint. A defamation lawsuit is filed against someone for remarks they have already made that you claim have damaged your reputation.
