President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has drawn criticism from Mr. Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress’ (NDC) 2027 presidential contender.
Obi characterised the strategy as “failure and renewed hopelessness” in an interview with Channels Television’s “Sunday Politics.”
He claimed that if he were elected president, he would give them genuine, palpable hope.
He claimed that Tinubu’s measures had neither improved the lives of common people or inspired confidence.
Obi denied that his plan to revive the economy through production was similar to the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration.
“No, no. That is a resurgence of despair. It’s not functioning,” he remarked.
The former governor of Anambra state maintained that rather than political rhetoric, Nigerians needed what he called “real hope built on visible progress.”
He continued, “The kind of hope I’ll bring is real hope—tangible hope that people will see and feel.”
