The former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), was criticised by Arise Television Morning Show anchor Rufai Oseni for not providing clear policy details on how he intends to address Nigeria’s challenges.
After Obi’s interview on Channels Television on Sunday, Oseni made the comments on Monday.
He believes that presidential candidates should explain the precise concepts and approaches underlying their proposed policies rather than just making general promises.

He contended that Nigerians ought to have already seen candidates’ comprehensive manifestos and policy frameworks as the election approached.

Oseni also took issue with the campaign’s repeated pledge to address insecurity without outlining the plan of action.
“We’ll address insecurity. How? Additionally, please refrain from saying to us, “I don’t want to share my operational details.”
Nobody advises you to divulge your operational data since you are not allowed to have them as a candidate. The term “operational details” refers to the fact that they are unique to operations.

The presenter added that he anticipated candidates to give methodological and scientific justifications for important industries, especially power.
“I mean, these are technical and methodological issues. I want our candidates to say these things.
What would you do about producing thousands of megawatts in the power sector? Transmission is currently a major issue in the electricity industry.
“Why aren’t we seeing more than 5000 megawatts of transmission capacity when we have 13,000 installed?
Will you make an investment there? Will you be raising the investment’s equity? Those are crucial questions, after all. We would therefore want to see more of those details, please,” he said.
