Makinde gave the order for all the vendors to leave the area right away and move to the new stores and booths built by the Ibadan North East Local Government Area administration.

He went on to say that street dealing is not tolerated by his government.

Speaking at the building’s commissioning on Friday, Makinde made these claims.

Speaking to the crowd, Makinde stated that the vendors are allowed to use the space at no cost.

He counselled the impacted merchants to use the building sensibly.

Speaking further, Makinde urged the vendors to report anyone attempting to extort them at the marketplace.

He declared that he is fighting street dealing in order to lessen the risks it poses to the state’s citizens.

“And as for the vendors who sell their goods by the side of the road, your names have been properly documented and the shops will be given to you free of charge,” Makinde stated.

“Report anyone attempting to obtain money from you. Go inside the park and away from the traffic. We have made the decision to always take precautions before outlawing roadside commerce.

People don’t know that these traders send their kids to school with a portion of their meagre profits. In order to lessen their burden, we have undertaken this effort.
